I set up Stand Out Films video production to help Artists, Crafters, Creative Businesses & Educators to stand out by documenting through video, their practise, their process, their creations and the inspiration behind what they do.

A high quality video representing their work, practice or service, portraying their key message or ethos, builds a connection with the viewer while also documenting and preserving their work for years to come.

I make bespoke videos that suit individual personalities and that allign to their core values. The process is always one-to-one, collaborative, cost effective, friendly and professional.

The ‘Role Models in pSTEM: You can be what you can see’ project was created to highlight positive role models for young women in the subjects of physics, mathematics, computer science and engineering. By creating videos for use in classrooms and on social media, the project hopes to make more young women aware of the very many career paths and opportunities available to them by pursuing these subjects.

Following the UNESCO framework of factors influencing girls’ and women’s’ participation in STEM, the interviews explore the backgrounds and influences of each of the role models and highlight what they enjoy about what they do.

Below are a suite of 1-minute trailers representing each role model. A series of 5-minute films were alao produced to show in classrooms and are available to view on the project's Youtube Channel.

The project is led by UCD and funded by the Higher Education Authority and Institute of Physics.  Produced by Stand Out Films Ireland 2021/2022
